All That Glitters - Celebrity news
Oscar noms are out...
...here's the complete list of nominees.
I predict Meryl Streep will trump Sandra Bullock for Best Actress, and that Jeff Bridges will trump George Clooney for Best Actor (boo!). I'm sure "Avatar" will win Best Picture (haven't seen it yet and have no desire to...it just looks like a movie about tall, skinny Smurf-wannabes). I'm excited that both Anna Kendrick and Vera Farmiga received Best Supporting Actress nods for "Up in the Air," though I doubt either of them will win.
What do you think of the nominees this year? Any predictions?

Golden Globes 2010
Who else watched the Golden Globes last night? I thought it was much more entertaining than it's been in quite some time. Between Ricky Gervais' outlandish jokes, Robert Downey Jr.'s hilarious acceptance speech, and the porcupines growing out of Drew Barrymore's shoulder and hip, I definitely enjoyed watching it. I was shocked that neither Anna Kendrick or Vera Farmiga won Best Supporting Actress for "Up in the Air," and I could not BELIEVE that George Clooney lost out to Jeff Bridges in his category. (Hopefully George will get the last laugh with an Oscar, though.)
What were your favorite (or least favorite) moments from last night?
Conan and Jay vs. NBC
This late-night battle is getting ridiculous. NBC is screwing both Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien over. Personally, I'm a Dave Letterman fan, and if I had to choose between Conan and Jay, Conan would lose. However, Conan is the one getting screwed over royally by this new deal, and I don't blame him at all for coming out today and saying that he'll quit "The Tonight Show" if NBC bumps his time slot. Frankly, the only thing Conan is guilty of is not seeing something like this coming. Has he forgotten what NBC did to Dave Letterman when Johnny Carson left "The Tonight Show" in the 1990's? Screwing over comedic talent is what NBC does best!
I am so watching this!
It's official: Rod Blagojevich is going to be a contestant on the upcoming season of Donald Trump's "Celebrity Apprentice." My guess is that The Donald will fire Blago just for the ego-inflated "thrill" of doing so, or maybe just on general principle. (Then again, Donald is allowing this man to be on his show, so what does that say about his principles?)
I must admit, I tune into Blago's madman radio show every once in a while for a few good laughs. I'll probably check out "Celebrity Apprentice" for the exact same reasons.

...Jacob Black is back on the market!
"Twilight" heartthrob Taylor Lautner broke up with his girlfriend, music superstar Taylor Swift. The two supposedly decided their relationship was going nowhere fast, and just decided to be friends. Now girls ages 8 to 97 can rejoice!
Brittany Murphy Dead at 32
Actress Brittany Murphy of "Clueless" and "Sin City" fame died this morning after suffering cardiac arrest. She was only 32 years old.
I must admit, I've never been a huge fan of Brittany's work, but whenever anyone dies this young, it's a tragedy. Of course numerous tabloids are already speculating that her death was a result of a drug overdose, but no one knows anything for sure at this point, and honestly, who cares? People who are healthy and in their thirties do die of heart attacks sometimes, and it's terrible. My thoughts go out to Brittany's family.
Golden Globe nominations are in...
...and George Clooney's film "Up in the Air" is the front-runner, with six nominations. I was also pleased that both Michael C. Hall and John Lithgow received well-deserved nominations for "Dexter." You can check out the complete list of nominations here. The Golden Globes will be held on January 17.
A killer "Dexter" finale
Who else watches "Dexter?" It's one of my favorite shows and I was completely blown away by the final moments of last night's season finale. Did anyone see that coming?! I think I can safely say that in my 30 years of life, that was the best season finale of any TV show I have ever seen, EVER!
What did you think of the ending? Let's discuss in the comments (which will likely be spoiler-heavy, so be warned if you haven't seen the show yet!).
