He proposes to one girl, then dumps her on television six weeks later in front of millions of people for the girl he initially dumped in the first place, and then THAT GIRL actually takes him back?! Craziness! I don't watch the show, and this is exactly why. Those people are out of their minds! It sounds like the ex-fiancee is the only real winner here...at least she won't end up married to that loser guy!

Poor Robert Pattinson has a new admirer, and it's none other than Paris Hilton! The blonde heiress reportedly dug her clutches into the vampire hottie at an Oscars party over the weekend. Watch out, Robert! You may have fangs and lightning speed, but Paris is even more vicious than your blood-sucking alter ego.

Another Oscar night has come and gone. I eagerly anticipated what had been billed as a new and refreshing format to the Academy Awards ceremony, but for the most part, I found the changes extremely disappointing, and this year's telecast seemed like the longest and most tedious Oscars I've ever sat through. However, there are still Best Dressed and Worst Dressed lists to share, as well as general comments about the ceremony.

BEST DRESSED

• Kate Winslet. She chose a very unique dress for tonight, and she looked ravishing. I also loved her hairdo.

Socks, Former First Cat of the Clinton Administration, died today at the ripe old age of 20. He had been battling throat cancer since last fall.

Bill and Hillary Clinton issued the following statement:

"Socks brought much happiness to Chelsea and us over the years, and enjoyment to kids and cat lovers everywhere. We're grateful for those memories, and we especially want to thank our good friend, Betty Currie, for taking such loving care of Socks for so many years."

After the Clintons left the White House, Socks went to live with Currie, President Clinton's personal secretary, with whom the cat shared a strong bond.

...a photo of her bashed-up face, which was allegedly rearranged by her boyfriend Chris Brown, was leaked to the media and is now all over the Internet.

In case you haven't seen it yet, I warn you that the photo is pretty disturbing. However, what's equally disturbing is the fact that the photo leaked in the first place. The photo presumably originated with the Los Angeles Police Department, and most likely someone on staff there is responsible for releasing the confidential image. How awful.

Are you on Twitter? I have an account there, but I'm not super active on the site...I just don't see why anyone needs to receive instant updates on the mundane details of my life. Updating my Facebook status several times a day is enough for me. However, I do "tweet" every once in a while, and it can be amusing to "follow" some of my friends, especially those who are prone to posting witty comments.

It's finally going to happen! This Sunday is Oscar night, and Jennifer Aniston is scheduled to present an award. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are both nominated for awards this year, so we are FINALLY going to be treated to a Jen/Brad/Angie red carpet run-in! Of course, Jen will be bringing her security blanket to the Oscars (its name is John Mayer), which will only make the evening more entertaining. I'm so excited...I have been waiting for this for YEARS!

I am getting very annoyed with Joaquin Phoenix. As you may know, he claims to have given up acting to pursue a career as a gangsta rapper. He's also given up personal hygiene and currently sports a god-awful lumberjack beard. Some people speculate that Joaquin's antics are all part of an elaborate hoax, à la Borat, but Joaquin vehemently denies those claims. Last night he appeared on David Letterman's show and behaved like a crazy person. My guess is that this isn't a hoax at all and that Joaquin is actually a major drug addict. I saw him on Letterman several years back (before his crazy beard days), and he behaved erratically then, too, like he was high on something.

Who's the better actress: Faye Dunaway or Hilary Duff? There's no contest, right? Faye Dunaway is a legend, and Hilary Duff is...well, Hilary Duff. That's about it.

Apparently, though, someone out there thinks Hilary's good enough to reprise Faye's classic role of Bonnie Parker in the upcoming remake of "The Story of Bonnie and Clyde." Needless to say, Faye isn't exactly thrilled with her replacement. When she was asked to comment on Hilary's casting, Faye replied, "Couldn't they have at least cast a real actress?" HA! Yes, it was a bit mean-spirited, but she's Faye Dunaway and I can forgive her for being catty. It is pretty insulting.
