I was very sad to hear of the passing of Senator Ted Kennedy last night. Regardless of whether you agreed with his politics, you have to admit that this man devoted practically his entire life to serving his country, and that's very admirable. He wasn't a perfect man, but Senator Kennedy was one of the most influential politicians in all American history. My thoughts are with his family during this incredibly difficult time. (They just buried Eunice Kennedy Shriver last week...it seems like these poor people never get a break.)

I do not like any of the Kardashians and I have never watched any of their stupid reality shows. I always thought Kim Kardashian was my least favorite of the bunch (I saw her on "Dancing with the Stars" and she was SO ANNOYING), but ever since her sister Kourtney announced that she's knocked up, I think the title of "Most Irritating Kardashian" belongs to the mother-to-be. Why? Because this girl only announced that she was expecting a few weeks ago, and every single day since then, I've read another stupid article about this stupid girl and her stupid pregnancy. Some of the topics have included:
- "How Kourtney Found Out She Was Pregnant"

Have you heard about this heinous model murder? The poor woman was allegedly killed by her reality star husband. When police found the body, they discovered that its fingers had all been cut off and its teeth had been pulled out. However (drumroll), the woman's body was still able to be identified by the serial numbers on her breast implants.
I know this is a terrible, terrible crime, but I have to admit...part of me chuckled when I read about the boob I.D. process. It's like something you would read in a really crappy mystery novel. Ah, the world we live in...

My weekend advice to everyone: DO NOT go see "The Time Traveler's Wife!" I saw it tonight and was MASSIVELY disappointed. I'm usually a fan of Rachel McAdams, and Eric Bana is an okay guy, but I wasn't happy with either of their performances in this movie. Also, the screenplay royally sucked. Audrey Niffenegger's novel is my favorite book in the whole wide world, and I am devastated that Hollywood butchered such a beautiful story in such a brutal fashion.

After many months of speculation, it appears that former presidential candidate John Edwards is finally going to admit that he's the father of Rielle Hunter's 18-month-old daughter. Last year, John admitted that he and Rielle had an affair, which is something he publicly denied for some time. Following his admission of guilt, John continued to deny that he was the father of Rielle's child.

My student worker stood in line behind Ben Stein at the Gold Coast Starbucks on Chicago Ave. this afternoon. She did not speak to him and, even worse, she did not invite him back to the office to meet ME! Very sad...but still an exciting afternoon nonetheless! Rumor is that Ben was in town to attend the funeral of John Hughes, which was held yesterday in Lake Forest.

Screw swine flu...vampires are responsible for the real epidemic going around here. Are you one of the victims?
I admit it...I am a "Twilight" junkie. I think the books are horribly written, but I love all things vampire and am completely in love with Stephenie Meyer's story. I also love that Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are apparently a real-life item. And yes, before you ask, I am a hardcore member of Team Edward. (As for you Team Jacob people, I cannot even begin to understand how your minds work!)

"Saved By the Bell" is 20 years old. Can you believe it? Now I feel really old.

It's official: Paula Abdul is leaving "American Idol." No reason was given for her departure, although her exit has been speculated about for some time.
Believe it or not, I've never seen an episode of "American Idol"...just a few clips once or twice. I also think Paula Abdul is a crazy you-know-what, although I admit that I was a big fan of hers during her "Forever Your Girl" days. However, not that she's leaving the top-rated show, what the heck is she going to do with herself? She hasn't had a real music career in decades. Maybe she will start partying hard with fellow loser Lindsay Lohan.

All these photos of George Clooney with his new, drop-dead gorgeous Italian girlfriend are making me sad.
