All That Glitters - Celebrity news
Michael Phelps is swimming in deep ****!
Olympic athlete Michael Phelps, who won a whopping eight gold medals during the 2008 Beijing Games, admitted that a photo of showing him inhaling from a bong is completely legitimate. Now, puffing the magic dragon isn't the worst thing a person can do, and I suppose it's good that Michael actually fessed up to what he did instead of pulling a Bill Clinton "I didn't inhale" bunch of B.S., but COME ON! What was he thinking?! Here's what I'd like to say to that kid, if given the chance:

What's with all the Jessica Simpson hoopla?
I don't understand all the drama surrounding Jessica Simpson's weight. She may have gained a pound or two, but who cares? She's not exactly fat. Besides, there are so many other credible things to make fun of Jessica for: her fugliness, her complete lack of talent, her failed romances, her "film career." Why waste time criticizing her for something so stupid?
OMG, George Clooney is returning to "ER!"
It's true, it's true, it's true, IT'S TRUE!!! Dr. Doug Ross is coming back for the show's final season! There's no word on when George will air or how many episodes he'll appear in, but HE'S COMING BACK! I am beyond thrilled!

I love Michelle Obama, BUT...
...what is up with her multiple fashion mishaps today? First there was the gold potato sack she wore to the inauguration ceremony, and now she's all decked out in a Charmin Ultra ballgown that looks like it has cotton balls sewed all over it. I expected more from her.
Check out those abs!
Britney Spears getting ready to begin her first tour in five years, and she's showing off her new, super-toned body. Way to go, Brit-Brit! It seems like you are finally getting your act together. (Let's just hope it lasts!)
I knew George Clooney wouldn't disappoint me! An executive producer from "ER" claims that the show is in talks with George about the possibility of him doing a cameo as Dr. Doug Ross for the hospital drama's final season. YES! I will actually tune in and watch that stupid show if this actually happens.

Golden Globes in review
Well, another Golden Globes has come and gone. Actually, this is the first Golden Globes ceremony we've had in two years, because last year's telecast was a stupid 30-minute spectacle thanks to the writer's strike. Regardless, here is my annual Best and Worst Dressed Lists, along with some general comments about the awards.
Best Dressed
- Tonight was Kate Winslet's night! Not only did she look lovely and was very gracious in her acceptance speeches, but she won TWO awards: one for "The Reader" and one for "Revolutionary Road." Way to go, Kate! Hopefully she will finally win an Academy Award this year.
Is it normal for a man to marry his own sister?!
No...but when that man and woman only portray brother and sister on television, I guess that makes it a little less strange.
Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter, who play the brother and sister duo of Dexter and Deborah Morgan on the hit Showtime series "Dexter" (one of my favorite shows, by the way), were married (to each other) on New Year's Eve. How random! I had no idea they were a real-life couple. Supposedly they've worked very hard to keep their relationship a secret and will make their "public debut" at the Golden Globe Awards this Sunday.

Why do Hollywood's hottest hunks settle for stupid skanks?!
Two disturbing bits of news to report today...first of all, "Dancing with the Stars" professional dancers Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Karina Smirnoff got engaged over the New Year holiday. They've only been dating for a few months, but apparently Karina somehow tricked Maks into popping the question. I don't get it! Maks is so hot and Karina's so...NOT! And she's unbelievably annoying to boot. I am very disappointed in Maks. I think my crush on him is officially over.
Best celebrity book cover ever
I picked up Carrie Fisher's latest memoir, "Wishful Drinking," at Borders yesterday. Check out the cover in the attachment (the pills are a nice touch):
2009 celebrity predictions
It's only January 2, which means we have a whole year of celebrity drama to look forward to! What do you think will happen in 2009? Which couples will hook up, break up, and procreate? Who will get arrested for DUI or illegal substence abuse? Which stars will do time in jail or be sent to the looney bin? Let me know your thoughts! Here are a few of my star-studded predictions:
COUPLES THAT WILL HOOK UP
- Owen Wilson and Kate Hudson (hopefully the third time will be the charm!)
- Mel Gibson and Britney Spears (I am still waiting for the juicy details about their quirky "friendship" to be revealed!)
COUPLES THAT WILL SPLIT UP
- John Mayer and Jennifer Aniston (I cannot believe they're still together)
