Scarlett's selling her snot!

Posted by mipplet on Thu, 12/18/2008 - 12:15

This is so gross! Scarlett Johansson is selling a used tissue on eBay! She claims that she recently caught a cold from Samuel L. Jackson, and that because the snot is the result of the convergence of two big stars, it has some monetary value. So far bidding on the snot rag is up to $2,000. All the money from the snot sale will be donated to charity...but still, it's disgusting! Also, I don't understand why eBay won't let people sell used underwear on its site, but it will allow Scarlett to sell her snot. How is that any more hygienic?! And who on earth would pay top dollar for someone else's snot rag?! I'd rather get a lump of coal in my stocking for Christmas!

Oops, she did it again!

Britney Spears did it! She managed to put all her pantyless antics aside and generate another number one album. "Circus," which was just released a week ago, has already sold more than half a million copies and is at the top of the charts. I am thoroughly impressed (and may have actually downloaded a couple of Brit-Brit's new songs from iTunes...hey, they're catchy!).

OMG, Britney Spears is hot again!

She still can't sing (or even lip sync) worth a damn, but Britney actually looks good for the first time in years! Is this the beginning of a massive comeback of epic proportions, or did Brit's crazy behavior over the past few years cross the line with her fans and push them away for good? Only time will tell. Britney's latest album, "Circus," will be released net week, so we'll see how far it climbs up the charts.

Who else saw and loved "Twilight?"

I finally saw it last night and was pleasantly surprised. Now I know why Robert Pattinson keeps getting mobbed everywhere he goes...he's adorable as teenage vampire Edward Cullen! I'm a fan of Stephenie Meyer's books, although I think her writing is pretty atrocious...it's the general story concept and the characters that draw me in. I think the filmmakers agree with me, and they took a lot of the hokey dialogue out of the "Twilight" film, which made it bearable to watch. A few things could have been done a bit better (Edward could have come across as a tad more old-fashioned in his dialogue/mannerisms, Victoria could have been more of a bad-ass, more time could have been devoted to the whole James hunt sequence, etc.), but overall I was very impressed. What did everyone else think?

Is it wrong that I find this funny?

Jodie Sweetin of "Full House" fame is splitting with Husband #2. It was just a few short weeks ago that Jodie gushed to the press about how great her husband was and how excited she was to be filming a reality show with him. I wonder what happened to change things so drastically in such a short period of time? In fairness, we shouldn't have expected much from Jodie. Remember, this is the same former child star who developed an addiction to crack or meth or something like that. She's also been married once before, and just had a baby girl last spring. I feel bad for her poor kid!

John and Marlena were FIRED?!

I haven't watched "Days of Our Lives" regularly in more than a decade. I'm lucky if I catch one or two episodes per year, if that. However, I was kind of obsessed with it as a pre-teen. I taped the show every day and would rush home from school to watch it. I continued watching throughout high school and occasionally tuned in during my college years.

Brad Pitt is a whiny little b**ch.

I'm pissed at Brad Pitt. He's making me look bad.

I went out of my way to announce that I've officially switched over from Team Jen to Team Angie. You'd think that would make Brad happy. However, now he's acting like a complete jackass.

Were you finally starting to think that the Jennifer Aniston/Angelina Jolie feud was a thing of the past? Think again! Jen lashes out at Angie in the December issue of Vogue magazine. The interviewer asked Jen to comment on remarks Angelina made a while ago about how she fell in love with Brad Pitt on the set of "Mr. and Mrs. Smith," a movie that was filmed when Brad was still married to Jen. In the Vogue interview, Jennifer said that Angie's behavior was (and I quote) "really uncool." Now why does that make me laugh?! If Jen still feels the need to vent to the press about her failed relationship, she should come up with a better statement than "really uncool."

No, I'm not dead...

...but with all the excitement surrounding the election, who gives a crap about celebrity gossip right now?! Even the celebs themselves have been pretty low-key lately. I think they're just as enamored with Barack Obama as the rest of the world. Hopefully they'll get over it soon and start acting stupid again so I have something to blog about!

Madonna's concert at the United Center last night was FABULOUS! She always puts on a great show. I was a bit disappointed that she didn't sing my favorite song from the "Hard Candy" album, and in my opinion the show wasn't quite as elaborate as her past tours have been (especially the finale), but it was still fantastic. Highlights from the show include:

  • The opening number, "Candy Shop," when Madonna made her grand entrance seated on a larger-than-life throne.

  • A pulsating performance of "Vogue."
  • Madonna pushing a luxury car filled with dancers onto the stage.
  • Video cameos by Kanye West, Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears ("It's Britney, bitch!").
