Rahm and Rod in happier times ...
Given all that's happened, the video link below is interesting.
Here's the context:
One of the potential grounds for impeachment of Gov. Rod Blagojevich is abuse of power. To back it up, lawmakers are going over the case of the governor ignoring federal law and buying foreign flu shots and prescription drugs and trying to import them without federal approval.
That approval never came. In the case of the flu shots they were donated to Pakistan where officials destroyed them after learning they'd expired.
Anyway, here's a video I came across of Congressman Rahm Emanuel and Blagojevich touting the drug importation program, which they announced together and then began signing up other states.
The added context to this is that Blagojevich was recently arrested for, among other things, trying to shake down people interested in being named to replace President-elect Barack Obama in the U.S. Senate.
Emanuel will be Obama's chief of staff. He had been a Congressman, Blagojevich's Congressman. In fact he replaced Blagojevich in the U.S. House after Blagojevich left to run for governor. Since the arrest, there have been growing questions about contact between Obama's camp and Blagojevich over the Senate seat. Obama said there was no inappropriate contact and federal authorities have not indicated anyone in the Obama team did anything wrong.
