Sean's vacation mix

I haven't been feeling quite so ... metal these days. Sure, I still love the Metallica and the Maiden and the what have you, but these dreary times call for music that's more hopeful, more upbeat, and more beautiful. May I suggest the following tunes for your downloading pleasure? I've been listening to them over the past week on vacation ...

"Get Back," Demi Lovato:

"Jai Ho," A.R. Rahman (from the "Slumdog Millionaire" soundtrack):

"Chemicals React," Aly & AJ:

"I Could Get Used To This," The Veronicas (this song really takes off around the 45-second mark):

"Pagan Poetry," Bjork:

"Teardrop," Massive Attack (theme from "House, M.D."):

"Dice," Finley Quaye:

"Back In Your Head," Tegan & Sara:

Props to Sean T, without whom I might not have heard half of these songs.

Massive Attack

Funny, that "House" theme always sounded familiar to me. Never realized it was "Teardrop." The things we learn early in the morning.

RE: Massive Attack

It turns out that if you only watch "House" on iTunes or DVD, then you wouldn't have recognized "Teardrop" -- Massive Attack's track is only heard as the theme when it actually airs on TV, either on Fox or USA. So I guess the production company didn't pay for the rights to use it in other media. That other theme is much more whimsical; I don't think it really fits the show.
