Suburban roll call on Senate lottery vote

By a vote of 43-8 the Illinois Senate approved leasing out the right to collect 80 percent of the losing lottery ticket take in exchange for at least $10 billion upfront. The lease could be up to 65 years. The lottery brings in $600 million annually. The money the state would get now would be split -- $3 billion for education and $7 billion to pay for construction projects.

Here’s how state senators from the Daily Herald’s area voted:

Those supporting the lottery lease deal:
Pamela J. Althoff, McHenry Republican
Dan Cronin, Elmhurst Republican
Kirk W. Dillard, Hinsdale Republican
Don Harmon, Oak Park Democrat
Linda Holmes, Aurora Democrat
Dan Kotowski, Park Ridge Democrat
Terry Link, Waukegan Democrat
Michael Noland, Elgin Democrat
Carole Pankau, Roselle Republican
William E. Peterson, Long Grove Republican
Arthur "AJ" Wilhelmi, Joliet Democrat

Those voting against the deal:
Randall M. Hultgren, Winfield Republican
Chris Lauzen, Aurora Republican
John J. Millner, Carol Stream Republican
Matt Murphy, Palatine Republican

Not voting:
Michael Bond, Grayslake Democrat
Susan Garrett, Lake Forest Democrat

Noland is hurting Elgin and Illinois future.

Michael Noland forgets just how close his victory was, after many failed attempts to win office.

He wants to expand gambling, at the detriment of Elgin. Now he wants to sell Illinois future earnings, by selling the Lottery for a quick fix.

Noland also wants us to cater to illegal aliens, also at the expense of American workers.

This guy will face one BIG uphill battle when he decides to run for re-election.

Just my thoughts,
Brenda
