Celebrity Twitterers
Are you on Twitter? I have an account there, but I'm not super active on the site...I just don't see why anyone needs to receive instant updates on the mundane details of my life. Updating my Facebook status several times a day is enough for me. However, I do "tweet" every once in a while, and it can be amusing to "follow" some of my friends, especially those who are prone to posting witty comments.
Barack Obama is the person who first got me onto Twitter. He (or, more likely, one of his staff members) sent out regular tweets during his campaign, which was pretty cool. Unfortunately, Barack's Twitter account eventually got hacked, as did the accounts belonging to Britney Spears and Miley Cyrus. However, Barack, Brit-Brit and Miley all eventually regained control of their respective accounts.
Although hacking into someone's Twitter account likely requires some skill, anyone can create an account and pose as a celebrity Twitterer. However, a lot of famous people are Twittering for real and use the site as a way to stay in touch with their fans. I'm not 100% certain that all of these accounts are authentic, but they seem pretty legit to me. If you want to know where your favorite star is at this very moment or what he/she had for breakfast this morning, check out these Twitter profiles:
- Lance Armstrong
- Bjork
- John Cleese
- Snoop Dogg
- Jimmy Fallon
- Tina Fey
- Neil Gaiman
- Al Gore
- Penn Jillette
- Ashton Kutcher
- Eli Manning
- Dave Matthews
- Demi Moore
- Shaquille O'Neal
- Yoko Ono
- Michael Phelps
- Arnold Schwarzenegger
- Emma Watson
- Luke Wilson
- Elijah Wood
If there are any notable celeb accounts I've left out, let me know. You can follow more celebrity Twitterers here.
