On this, Rihanna's 21st birthday...

...a photo of her bashed-up face, which was allegedly rearranged by her boyfriend Chris Brown, was leaked to the media and is now all over the Internet.

In case you haven't seen it yet, I warn you that the photo is pretty disturbing. However, what's equally disturbing is the fact that the photo leaked in the first place. The photo presumably originated with the Los Angeles Police Department, and most likely someone on staff there is responsible for releasing the confidential image. How awful.

Rihanna has enough crap to deal with right now. She shouldn't have to go through all this, too, and have such a traumatic photograph on display for the whole world to see. I hope the authorities identify the person responsible for leaking the photo and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law.
