Last 3 drafts a mixed bag
A look at the last three Bears drafts reveals some good, some bad and a lot of mediocrity in between.
Of the Bears' 28 draft choices since 2006, seven were starters in '08: WR Devin Hester, NT Dusty Dvoracek (although he was on I.R. for the final four games), TE Greg Olsen (who actually only started seven games but was on the field as much as a starter and was second on the team with 54 catches and 574 yards), OG Josh Beekman, S Kevin Payne, CB Corey Graham and RB Matt Forte.
Thirteen players from the Bears' last three drafts were backups last season: DB Danieal Manning, LB's Jamar Williams and Joey LaRocque, DE Mark Anderson, RB Garrett Wolfe, CB Trumaine McBride, OT Chris Williams, WR Earl Bennett, DT Marcus Harrison, S Craig Steltz, TE Kellen Davis, CB Zack Bowman (who suffered a season-ending torn biceps in his first) and DE Ervin Baldwin, who was active for seven games but never played. OG Tyler Reed was on the practice squad.
Then there's the group of seven that are either out of the league or were cut but hooked up with another team: second-round DE Dan Bazuin, third-round LB Michael Okwo (Colts), FB J.D. Runnels, OT's Aaron Brant and Kirk Barton (Bengals), OG Chester Adams and WR Marcus Monk.
While the Bears don't have much to show for their second-rounder (Bazuin) and two third-rounders (Okwo and Wolfe) in 2007, they had better luck in the fourth (Beekman) and fifth round (Payne and Graham).

Why are the Bears not making any moves at all? Do they really think they have the talent on that roster??? There are some lower tier players that could make a difference(Leigh Bodden CB, Gerald Sensabaugh, S, .D.J. Hackett, WR, Khalif Barnes, OT). Is it the ownership being cheap? Is it a GM being stubborn? It just seems that this team is coming apart at the seams...and that no one answers to anybody. Lovie has not been held accountable for his actions...JA not for his drafts. It seems like the blame is always on someone else. Jerry Angelo made a comment that Cassel was only good because he was from New England and they had a "Good System"! Why then are we not trying to find a better system if this one isn't working!!! I just don't undertand any more...completely frustrated.
