GLENDALE, Ariz. _ Paul Konerko's name was scratched from the White Sox' starting lineup prior to Wednesday's Cactus League game against the Milwaukee Brewers. Jim Thome's name was inserted, and it had nothing to do with Konerko being injured. Rather, the Sox just wanted to give Thome more at-bats. The veteran DH is hitting .143 (2-for-14) in 5 games. Thome was scratched just before the game with a sore back, a common malady over the past few seasons. All in all, the Sox have stayed pretty healthy so far. Jayson Nix, competing for playing time at second base, has been out since last Wednesday after straining his right quadriceps. The injury isn't believed to be serious, and Nix could be back in the lineup by Friday.
