"So say we all."
Did anyone else watch the "Battlestar Galactica" series finale last night? What did you think of it? (Note: the rest of this post contains spoilers, so stop reading if you don't want me to ruin the ending for you!)
Personally, I think the show kind of went downhill this past season. The finale had a few good moments, but for the most part, I was left unsatisfied. Everything seemed very rushed. Plus, the show made such a big deal out of the Final Five for so long, and nothing big really came of that.
I liked the way Kara entered the "All Along the Watchtower" theme song as the jump coordinates and ultimately did lead the fleet to Earth. However, I hate the way she just disappeared at the end. The Bill/Lee/Kara Holy Trinity concept was interesting, but I just hate the fact that Kara disappeared altogether, and I always hoped that she and Lee would manage to find happiness together. Now Kara's gone and Lee seems perfectly satisfied spending the rest of his life climbing mountains. WTF?
Laura's death scenes were very moving, and I loved that shot of Adama sitting and reflecting by the mountains, but what was up with his farewell scenes with Lee and Kara? Why did it seem like Adama was never going to see Lee again? That's his son! Yes, Laura is dead, and that's sad, but tough! Is Adama just going to be a hermit now, like Chief Tyrol apparently wants to be on his mysterious little island? Oh, and why does Chief have absolutely no contact with HIS son anymore? Even though it was revealed that Hot Dog was the child's biological father, Chief is the only dad that kid has ever known. Why just cut him out of the child's life for good like that?
I love the fact that Tyrol killed Torry (I always hated that witch), and that Baltar and Six seemed to find true love in the end. However, I really, really, REALLY hated that stupid robot sequence at the very end of the episode. It didn't fit with the rest of the show at all. The scene with Adama overlooking the mountains would have been a better way to end it.
What are your thoughts?

...your proposed ending is much better than the one that aired!
They ended the show better than the original series ended, but that's about it. Did they really need to bump off as many main characters as they did, in these final epsidoes. The
Laura grave at the end, reminded me of when JL Picard buried Capt. Kirk in the Star Trek Movie Generations. Did Kara need to disapear like that, NO. The end scene was funny, but it would have been better, if when Baltar and Caprica or 6 looked in the window of that store and the robot would have been a centurion instead of that robotic character it was. Parts were good, others could have been different, like most series finales there are too many unanswered questions, and situations that didnt close the book the way it should have.
