Republicans and taxes

House Republicans today are furious that their proposals aren't advancing in the Democratic-run House.
They've been doing a daily "outrage" for the past week or so. They point out some legitimate issues but also garner some political points with voters by stirring up media coverage.

One of today's outrage topics is that a plan that would require any tax increase get support from 60 percent of lawmakers rather than a simple majority has not been debated.

Among those outraged at how Democrats are running things is Danville Republican Bill Black.

I somehow don't recall Rep. Black pushing this more-votes-for-tax-hike plan when he was co-sponsoring Republican Gov. Jim Edgar's tax increase to fund schools back in the late 1990s.
