Road kill redux

Random thoughts: *For the record, I was on the radio with Mike Murphy on Wednesday and predicted the Cubs to sweep the White Sox at Wrigley this weekend and the Sox to return the favor at U.S. Cellular Field next weekend. The White Sox were positioned to win the first two games on the North Side, but their pitching staff couldn’t keep the ball in the park. Let’s see if Cubs pitchers have the same problem at the Cell next week. Regardless, the White Sox have lost eight straight away from home, and they're not going to stay in first place for long playing like that. *To repeat, Wrigley is a great place to watch a game. But when the Cubs are on the road, they should be given a trailer to use as a clubhouse and see how they like it. *If you’re not keeping track, Jose Contreras has allowed 18 earned runs on 30 hits over 16 innings in his last 3 starts, all losses. *In the first two games of the series, third baseman Joe Crede is 0-for-7 with 3 strikeouts. He also grounded into a big double play Friday.
