Quentin makes early exit

Carlos Quentin said he's prepared himself to play with pain in his left foot for the rest of the season, but he had to come out of Monday night's game against the Angels in Anaheim, Calif., in the first inning.
Quentin hit a run-scoring double over the head of Angels center fielder Torii Hunter, which put the White Sox in front 3-0.
But he hobbled into second base and had to be helped off the field by trainer Herm Schneider and pitcher Mark Buehrle.
Quentin is dealing with plantar fasciitis, a fairly common injury among athletes, but one with no quick cure.
If Quentin needs to go on the disabled list, Dewayne Wise might have to shorten up a rehabilitation assignment he started Monday with Class AAA Charlotte.
