Jon and Kate: Not so great
I haven't written about all the media hoopla surrounding the stars of the reality show "Jon & Kate Plus Eight" because, quite frankly, I don't really care. I've never seen the show, but I haven't been able to avoid watching these two people bitch about each other and their marriage on the news because they are ALL OVER television, the Internet, and the tabloids. I am getting sick and tired of listening to their whining. Obviously, I feel bad if anyone's marriage falls apart, but these idiots have put their lives completely out there for the world to see with their stupid show. What did they think would happen if their relationship went sour? And how dare they complain about they way this is hurting their kids? Divorce is hard enough for kids to deal with on its own, but imagine having to go through the process when a camera crew is documenting your every move for the whole world to see. Also, why do people care about these people so much? I just don't understand the appeal.
Watching Jon and Kate made dealing with two kids and our life seem not so bad.
Now it's just a train wreck barreling toward a school bus that I can't watch.
One wants to return to "real" life while the other wants to be an even bigger celebrity and the show seems to barely be about the kids and parenthood and instead is about marriage and egos.
In short, it's turning into just another "reality" show.
Obviously, your not a parent. That's why you don't understand the appeal.
Any parent who has spent the night chasing vomit and nervously pacing as
their child's fever ebbs and flows would obviously be interested in how a parent
does it with 8 kids at a time.
As for the state of their marriage, who cares?
