Farewell, Farrah Fawcett

The past week has been a big one in the world of celebrity news. Ed McMahon died. Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick welcomed twin girls with the help of a surrogate mother. Jon and Kate announced their split (big whoop). Now today, Farrah Fawcett died from cancer at the age of 62.

Don't get me wrong...I followed Farrah's battle with cancer in the headlines just like everybody else. I understand she even filmed a documentary about her disease, which I think is awesome. Maybe it's because I never watched "Charlie's Angels," but I just never understood what the big deal was about Farrah as an actress. I also don't understand why she was supposedly such a huge sex symbol, because although she's attractive, I don't think she's a goddess or anything. Still, people obviously adored her, because this has-been actress is already receiving even more media attention than Ed McMahon did when he passed away a few days ago.

All that aside, Farrah had a lot of fans, and she also had many friends and family members who loved her. I hope she is finally at peace.
