White Sox seeing stars?
All-star teams are going to be announced on Sunday afternoon, and the White Sox deserve to have several players representing the American League.
So why am I getting the feeling the Sox will be lucky to get two players to Yankee Stadium for the July 15 Midsummer Classic?
Maybe it's because many fans are still voting like the All-Star Game is a popularity contest. That's the only reason why Boston's David Ortiz has the most votes among designated hitters even though he's been sidelined since June 1 with a left wrist injury.
Which White Sox players should be going to baseball's showcase game?
Considering they're in first place in the AL Central, I think outfielders Jermaine Dye and Carlos Quentin belong, as do starting pitcher John Danks (2.50 ERA) and reliever Scott Linebrink (1.54 ERA).
Maybe the Sox will get Quentin and Danks. Or maybe Dye and Linebrink. If more than two go, it would be a major surprise.
