Ladendorf gets an A
Well, at least now if Tyler Ladendorf makes it to the big leagues (hopefully), I won't be torn about watching him play for the hated "piranhas" up in Minnesota. The former Maine West star "became" a pro Friday when he was traded by the Twins to Oakland for former Gold Glove shortstop Orlando Cabrera, who spent last season on the South Side helping the Sox win the AL Central and antagonizing official scorers, reporters, Ozzie Guillen and Jermaine Dye with needless steals of third base.
It was a straight-up deal - which is pretty flattering to Ladendorf, a second-round pick of the Twins last June. He could even be coming closer to home at Class A Kane County. After a red-hot start in rookie ball, Ladendorf was promoted to Class A Beloit by the Twins. I'd much rather watch him on a few occasions each year wearing the A's green and gold rather than a Twins uniform.
