Here are some updates before the White Sox play the high-flying Angels at the Cell:
*Closer Bobby Jenks was taken to the hospital Tuesday afternoon and is not available tonight.
Jenks is still trying to pass another kidney stone, and he hasn't looked too good the past few days.
If the issue is taken care of today, there still might be a few days of recovery time.
*Alexei Ramirez is out of the starting lineup for the fifth straight game after spraining his right ankle.
Ramirez has been taking groundballs and is close to returning. He could be back Wednesday night, but Ozzie isn't making any promises.
*Who is going to start Friday vs. Cleveland, now that Clayton Richard has been traded to the Padres and Jake Peavy is still at least three weeks away from coming off the disabled list?
It could be D.J. Carrasco again, it could be Carlos Torres. I still think Freddy Garcia is going to fill the role for good by the end of the month, but Ozzie said he has no idea who is pitching Friday.
*Gordon Beckham was named AL Rookie of the Month after batting .330 (32-for-97) with 10 doubles, 3 home runs and 18 RBI in July.
Over his last 20 games, Beckham is hitting .411 with 11 doubles, 2 home
runs and 17 RBI.
*Jim Thome needs 2 walks to tie Eddie Yost for 10th in MLB history, 4 home runs to tie Reggie Jackson for 12th place at 563 and 5 RBI to tie Willie McCovey for 39th all-time at 1,555.
