Looking forward to Favre
In talking to Bears players, I get the strong impression that they’re actually looking forward to facing Brett Favre twice this season.
They know that the old gunslinger isn’t nearly as deadly a shot as he was from 1994-2003, when he was leading the Packers to 18 wins in 20 games against the Bears. They know he’ll put the ball up for grabs a couple times a game, the way he did in his last six vs. the Bears, when he was picked off 13 times, while throwing just 2 touchdowns. The Bears also know Favre, as he approaches his 40s, doesn’t have nearly the elusiveness that he did in his 20s, so he’s a lot easier to sack.
It seemed odd the other day when LB Lance Briggs said he hoped that Favre would make the Vikings a better team. But his explanation made sense.
“We want the best possible team to play us when we step on the field either here or in Minnesota,” Briggs said. “Because it doesn't really matter who lines up. We're coming out, and we're going to bring our ‘A’ game, and that's just the way it’s gonna be. These division games have always been great rivalries. So, you line your 11 up, and we’ll line ours up and see what happens.”

..and let me tell you...I have never seen hype like this before and I'm from Chicago!
These people are so convinced that the ViQueens are Super Bowl bound, that anything less would be catastrophic. Enter Da Bears...they may not have the best season what with issues at D-Line, Secondary, WR, etc....but when Marcus Harrison gets up off of Favre with that look that Lawrence Taylor had when he snapped Theismann's fibula on MNF, I'll be thinking, gee #4, you should've stayed in Hattiesburg! And so will he!
Seriously, I'm the biggest Bear fan up here, and I don't see much to get excited about with this year's squad, until I see a pass rush....without pressure from the front four, even bad QB's will light up the sky...I hope Cut's crew can play catch up!!
And finally.......C'mon Lovie...show some fire!!!
BL..next time the commissioner comes around, please ask him if the NFL will set the standard both in it's own sport and for other leagues. It would be nice if once a guy says he's retired, he can't play for at least 2-3 years, if he changes his mind, too bad. That would stop all these Farve type circus'.
