Cutler ripped -- for postgame attitude
As if his 4-interception performance in the season opener wasn’t bad enough, now Bears QB Jay Cutler is getting torched for his postgame press conference.
On the premiere episode of “The Head Coaches on NFL Network,” Monday night, Mike Martz and Jim Mora took Cutler to the woodshed, and they weren’t even talking about his performance on the field that resulted in a 43.2 passer rating.
"When I saw that postgame press conference … I thought he looked completely immature,” Mora said. “He acted like he didn't even care. I just didn't think he was very professional, very accountable."
Then Martz piled on: "He just doesn't get it. He doesn't understand that he represents a great head coach and the rest of those players on that team … somebody needs to talk to him."
Personally, Cutler’s postgame demeanor didn’t bother me nearly as much as the 4 picks. But I wonder what others thought of Cutler’s attitude.

The kid's dosing insulin through a freaking pump the whole night while playing professional football. Maybe he was just tired. Maybe his blood sugar was low. Maybe he was really freaking hungry and wanted something to eat. Ya think? Maybe?
I don't have diabetes but I know a lot about the disease and it does impact mood and behavior. He had a rough night and it wasn't all his fault either.
Starting with Martz and Mora, this is just ridiculous.
...He gave all the standard textbook answers to all the silly questions, and got out of there before he could be coerced into throwing any of his teammates under the bus. He would have been well within his right to do so, given that on at least 2 and probably 3 of those 4 interceptions, the receivers were at least partially if not totally to blame.
Jim Mora's playoff rant was real professional/mature too.
That was probably the toughest post game interview Cutler will ever have to walk into...He didn't deflect blame, he just looked exhausted and beat down. I'm not sure what they want a guy to do?
Jim Mora is still the buttock of jokes for some of his meltdowns. Watching Cutler, I saw a guy who was mentally, physically and emotionally exhausted. These guys aren't robots. What do people expect him to say? Whatever he did or said, he was going to get ripped. He's an easy target these days.
would you expect him to want to talk to the media? We always seem to clamor for someone to go outside the norm and not give the aww shucks response or insultingly basic halftime interview on why the score is what it is. When someone shows there actual feelings everyone gets all riled up. His receivers embarassed him on natl TV after his publisized trade, I dont blame him for feeling sour
As I was watching Cutler's post game press conference, I too felt he was immature. He kept taking his hat off, rubbing his face, and at times you can hear him tapping the podium. He clearly didn't want to be in front of the media. Hopefully next Sunday that will come in mind and have a better game.
