Urlacher takes another hit

Not a good week for Brian Urlacher.

On top of Sunday’s season-ending dislocated wrist, now, according to the NationalFootballPost.com, he’s been dropped by Dreams Inc., with whom he had a four-year, $1.1 million contract to sign memorabilia and make appearances.

Urlacher filed suit Wednesday in Cook County Circuit Court for breach of contract, seeking to uphold the contract and to receive the roughly $600,000 remaining on the contract that was to run through 2011.

Regardless of how things play out in court, Urlacher should be OK financially.

Last summer, the Bears gave him a one-year extension (through 2012), worth $18 million, on a contract that still had four years to run. He received a $6 million signing bonus and had a year tacked on to his original deal at a base salary of $7.5 million. He also had $1 million tacked on to his base salaries from 2009-11, giving him base salaries of $5.625 million for this season, $6.825 million for 2010 and $8.025 million for 2011.

questionable

the extensions he and tommie harris got our questionable now, of course hindsight is always 20/20. Urlacher has a few fixed expenditures like the numerous children with numerous women, a few enterprises (is he still owner of Bon-V?) and of course that rugged socialite brother Casey. Its a long way from Lovington, NM.....
