Alfonso Soriano will play in an Arizona Rookie League game Monday morning at 10:30 in Peoria, Ariz., against the Padres' club. The Cubs hope to get Soriano 6-7 at-bats. The plan remains for him to play for Class AAA Iowa Tuesday. It's possible the Cubs will activate him Wednesday against the D'Backs, one day ahead of schedule.

Soriano said this morning his left hand felt fine after batting practice Saturday.

"I'm ready to play today, but they want me to do a rehab, so I'm going to do a rehab," he said. "We'll see where we go from there. Yesterday, it was better than the day before, because the first day I hit, on Friday, I was a little scared."

Soriano said he'd "like to" play Wednesday but that he'd go along with the Cubs' plans. He also said he felt his power wouldn't be affected, as Derrek Lee's was after his broken wrist. Soriano broke a bone in his left hand June 11.

Lou moved Fukudome back up in today's lineup:

Theriot, SS
Fukudome, RF
Lee, 1B
Ramirez, 3B
Edmonds, CF
DeRosa, LF
Soto, CF
Fontenot, 2B
Dempster, P

bout darn time

The Cubs finally score some runs, Dempster continues to amaze me, first win on the road, which he should have 3 by now. Lilly has pitched well enough to have 12 wins.
This psychicoid offense just might make Lou lose his mind, if not mine.. I have to eat my words again about Dempster, never thought he could be a starter.. Hell he seems to get stronger the more innings he pitches..Nice game today, good win but time to step up and play like the playoff team everyone says this team is...I, for one am looking forward to the Brewer series, but have to beat a bad Arizona team first..If you cant beat the teams you should, you have no one to blame but yourself..
