Stumbling off the bus
For a team that supposedly, "gets off the bus running the football," according to coach Lovie Smith, the Bears seem to be stumbling quite a bit.
The Bears managed 83 rushing yards on 23 attempts in Sunday night's 21-14 loss to the Falcons, only because QB Jay Cutler had a 30-yard scramble that gave him 34 yards for the game and made him the Bears and, for that matter, the game's leading rusher.
Matt Forte, the presumptive featured runner, had 23 yards on 15 carries, for a 1.5-yard average with a long gain of 5 yards. And that wasn't the worst of it. Forte fumbled on back-to-back carries from the Falcons' one-yard line, losing the second one and contributing to one of the Bears' three red-zone trips that produced no points.

Why does he show up for one series....make a nice first down and then vanish. And why do the dumb dumb offensive minds instill on trying to run 25 between the tackles instead of getting him outside where his speed is a massive asset....especially around the goalline? What a bunch of idiots who direct this offense....
i dont think wolfe is the answer to any question. Unfortunately the rb market is slim and the bears are short on draft picks to trade. Larry Johnson might be on the block but i wouldnt give up more than a 4th rounder given his decline. Again, moot because bears have like 2 picks in 2010 draft and appear to be stuck with forte who was a 1 yr wonder
Wolfe NEVER gets any regular reps so how do i, you or anyone know what he can or can't do ?
he has been there 3 yrs. the bears see him every day and he has done nothing in any game. benefit of doubt. he isnt darren sproles
Another reason to question the brain trust of this team is that Wolfe had a dynamite collegiate career and burned some big Division 1 teams but he can't get regular reps on a team with a questionable depth chart at rb.
Instead, they go with a tentative Kevin Jones before he was injured and a led foot Adrian Peterson. AP has been a good soldier but i believe Wolfe would shine if he was featured regularly. His small stature is not a reason not to give him a frigging chance. And yet, the Bears continue to delude themselves and their followers by calling themselves a 'running team'. They couldn't run a lemonade stand let alone a credible rushing offense.
How many years has Ron Turner been the OC? And yet, we still get the predictable Forte into the line for 1 on first down. Forte into the line for two on second down and then a predictable quick slant that is either short of a first down or batted down. That was pre Cutler....but we still see far too much predictability from Turner.
Memo to the OC: get Wolfe some regular reps.
can anyone say Anthony Thomas?
Olin Kreutz has been terrible. His day has come and gone, time to move on.
Frank Omiyale. What a stiff.
