Calling all Twilighters
Many theaters in the suburbs will be showing the original "Twilight" on the big screen Thursday night at 9 p.m., followed by the midnight premiere of "The Twilight Saga: New Moon," in which Team Jacob and Team Edward collide in (hopefully) spectacular fashion. Click here for a list of every theater within 40 miles of the Daily Herald office building that will be showing both movies this week.
I have hope for "New Moon" and the franchise's new director, Chris Weitz, who last gave us the spectacle of "The Golden Compass." Catherine Hardwicke laid the groundwork for the teen angst and romance, and Weitz will hopefully deliver a much more polished film. "Twilight" didn't look that much better than your standard SyFy Channel original movie, and the result was a film that felt more like a TV pilot. (Kinda like "Buffy" meets "The O.C." meets "Northern Exposure," or something.)
"New Moon" also adds two of the finest teen actors in America, Dakota Fanning and Cameron Bright, though I'm sure neither will be given a chance to steal the show from K-Stew, R-Pattz and whatever you darn kids are calling Taylor Lautner. (Do he and T-Sweezy get a couples nickname, like Tay-Tay?)
But seriously, I have to ask: When will it be safe for me to see this movie? I want to go, but I don't want to infringe upon your special alone time with Edward and Bella. I'd like to be able to hear the dialogue, not just gasps of joy from the audience. I have vacation time after Thanksgiving; should I wait for, say, a Tuesday early-afternoon show of that week? Will it be safe then?

are you watching Flash Forward yet? Or are you going to wait until that bandwagon gets up a head of steam before you jump on?
I watched the first two episodes and found the dialogue unbearable. They have all these good actors, but they all sound like fools.
The only new show I've embraced is "Modern Family." I want to watch "V," but I'm wary of investing in a show that already fired its showrunner -- which "FlashForward" did as well.

cripes. do you really think a genuine gasper is reading THIS blog?
I missed you, Dangle. Did you miss me? I hope so.
Some gaspers will read. I send the link out to my Facebook friends and Twitter followers, and I know some of them fit the bill. (Of course, I'm assuming they care enough to click. But hey, you do.)
