Punter Richmond McGee signed a two-year contract today and is expected to replace Brad Maynard, who suffered a groin injury last week and was not able to practice on Saturday.

Maynard has missed just one game in 13 seasons, when a groin injury sidelined him in 2007. He leads the league in punts inside the 20-yard line since entering the NFL in 1997.

To make room for McGee, defensive end Adewale Ogunleye was placed on injured reserve with a fractured fibula suffered last week against the Ravens.

McGee spent the 2009 preseason with the Bears and had 4 punts for 145 yards (36.3-yard average), landing two inside the 20-yard line. He originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Eagles last season but was released Aug. 26.

At Texas (2002-05), McGee averaged 39.6 yards on 130 punts. Thirty-six percent of his kickoffs (96 of 265) went for touchbacks.

Ogunleye started all 14 games at left defensive end this season and recorded a team-high 6.5 sacks and 3 fumble recoveries, with 33 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss and 1 forced fumble.
