8th GOP candidate loses manager
Russell Lissau has the latest from the 8th U.S. House race ...
The campaign manager for Republican congressional candidate Joe Walsh quit earlier this month, both men confirmed Tuesday. Keith Liscio, who had been Walsh’s point man in his bid for the 8th District seat now held by Democrat Melissa Bean, declined to say why he left the job. Walsh cited personal reasons and some “philosphical disagreements.”
Liscio has been replaced by Sheila Morgan and Jim Thacker, Walsh said.
Walsh is one of six Republicans seeking the GOP nomination in the Feb. 2, 2010, primary. The others are: Dirk Beveridge, John Dawson, Chris Geissler, Greg Jacobs, and Maria Rodriguez. Bean is seeking re-election and will be the only Democrat on the ballot. Green Party candidate Bill Scheurer is running, too.

i dont think he was a democrat, he just was very liberal
So Rod says Joe Walsh ran as a Democrat once before? Then by that logic, we can ask is Mark Kirk not gay? Or is he gay? Whatever...
Judging by Joe Walsh's song lyrics, he seemed very blue collar to me. Does that make him a Democrat, Republican or gay?
doesn't he live 40 miles out of the district?
isn't he pro choice, pro gun control, pro gay, pro aclu, ? He was last time he wanted to be a Congressman. I lived in Chicago when he ran, not sure of the year, but even then he was a little kooky
TexAnn - Can you provide the basis of your comments? Is it based on factual information or just heresy from Beveridge's campaign?
I know Joe and find him to be an outstanding leader who cares more about solving the issues than making a name for himself.
absolutely---i've seen Joe's videos, i've seen joe speak in person, i've read his email press releases and all i hear is whining and angry rhetoric. have you seen his latest youtube? he sounds like a wind up toy--"i'm fed up" i'm fed up" "i'm fed up" so what, we're all fed up--what is he going to do differently?!?!--he needs to understand his audience better...leaders know how to work with people, they know how to lead teams, they understand inspiring and collaborating, they understand how to listen and how to engage in conversation and solve problems with leadership. joe has proven he can't lead or win--didnt he run for office in the 9th and 10th district previously??? now, he's trying for our district?
TexAnne,
In regarts to my good friend Joe Walsh, one of our GREATEST PRESIDENTS! Ronald Reagan did not win every election. Walsh is a winner! Beveridge will fall flat ...
Joe lacks leadership and grasp of collaborative skills necessary for being effective in congress. he's too angry to get to work. he may get past Maria, but won't come close to Beveridge. he's the complete package.
It's pretty late, but Jim can help Walsh do it if anybody can.
Good for Sheila and Jim. They might help Walsh get past Rodriguez. Not so sure they would make any difference in the outcome against Bean, however, should Walsh be the nominee.
