State of the State is - Long

Following Gov. Pat Quinn's 73 minute, free-flowing State of the State address - in which he ended by choking up while talking about his late father - House Speaker Michael Madigan took to the podium and commented on how long the governor went on.
Apparently not knowing the mic was still hot, Madigan said he was told Quinn's speech would be 40 minutes long. He then pointed to the clock, remarking that it was 1:21 p.m.
The House has now adjourned to Feb. 3, so this was the last day Quinn could have commanded this much attention in his official capacity before the Democratic primary.
Most socialists seem to use the same tactic.
