LOST: Premiere party in Palatine

We are 15 days away from the three-hour "Lost" premiere event, and suburban fans looking for a way to share their love for all things Oceanic without hosting a party themselves now have somewhere to go.

Durty Nellie's in Palatine will be hosting a "Lost" premiere party on Feb. 2 for guests 21 and over. According to a press release, the one-our recap show and the new two-hour episode, "LA X," will be shown on 14 big-screen TVs and a 16x19 HDTV. There will be no cover charge for the event, and a "Lost" trivia contest will be staged after the premiere.(The winner gets a $100 Durty Nellie's gift card.) Click here for more info.

If you've caught up with Season 5 (or watched it about 10 times over like I have), I suggest you watch some of Season 1's key episodes again. You'll be amazed by how many loose ends from that first go-round were addressed in the most recent season, and you'll be reacquainted with some characters that I think are suddenly going to be important again (wink, wink). Here are ten essential Season 1 episodes to revisit, in chronological order:

"Pilot" -- The two-parter that started it all. We never again saw Sawyer's clean-shaven, short-haired look, not even in flashbacks to Flight 815 ...

"Walkabout" -- We learn John Locke's secret in this episode's jaw-dropping final scene. Notice, also, the name John gives to the phone-sex operator he talks to in Act Two.

"White Rabbit" -- Our first glimpse of Jack's father comes here, and Jack and Locke share their first of many conversations that pit faith vs. science: "I've looked into the eye of this island, and what I saw was beautiful."

"Confidence Man" -- Sawyer's past provides a backdrop for his first big con on the island -- one whose purpose was merely to get a kiss from "Freckles." This episode also includes the heartwarming peanut butter scene between Charlie and Claire.

"All the Best Cowboys Have Daddy Issues" -- A terrible title, but a truly great episode, one of my favorites of the entire series. In the flashback, we see Jack's betrayal that may have ultimately led to his father's demise. On the island, Ethan hangs Charlie, leading to the wrenching revival scene that Matthew Fox and Evangeline Lilly still haven't topped, acting-wise.

"Homecoming" -- A shaken Claire returns to camp, and Charlie seeks revenge on Ethan.

"Numbers" -- In which we learn that Hurley wasn't lying when he said he was worth millions of dollars.

"Deus Ex Machina" -- Boone's life hangs in the balance after an accident in the jungle. In flashbacks, we meet Locke's duplicitous father, who comes to his son in need of a kidney transplant.

"Do No Harm" -- Boone loses his battle to stay alive, just as Claire gives birth to Aaron.

"Exodus" -- The Season 1 finale sees the successful launch of Michael's raft and the fateful maritime meeting with Mr. Friendly. On the island, Dr. Arzt gets friendly with a few sticks of dynamite, and Locke finally opens the hatch despite Hurley's warnings upon seeing "the numbers" embossed on its exterior walls.

RE: Give it up, man

Helen, the name of John Locke's girlfriend in Season 2 flashbacks. We learn in Season 5 that she died while Locke was on the island.

Give it up, man

What's the name John gives to the operator in "Walkabout?" I don't have access to Season 1. Thanks.
