Signing streak continues

The White Sox haven't had to take a player to salary arbitration since 1995, when they lost their case to starting pitcher Alex Fernandez and his agent, Scott Boras.
The streak of harmonious negotiations continued on Wednesday, when starting pitcher John Danks avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $3.45 million contract.
Danks, 24, was 13-11 last season, and the lefty logged 200 1/3 innings.
In addition to establishing career highs in wins and innings pitched, Danks ranked fourth among AL left-handers with a .245 opposing batting average. He was also 10th overall in ERA.
Last spring, Danks turned down a four-year, $15.5 million contract offer from the Sox, the same deal rotation mate Gavin Floyd accepted.
Danks can make more than that in arbitration until he's eligible for free agency following the 2012 season, but there are obvious risks involved.
First, he's got to continue to produce on the mound. Second, he has to stay healthy.
Danks missed one start last season _ in late July _ with a blister and circulatory problem on his left index finger.
It's no big deal, and Danks went 4-4 with a 3.62 ERA over the final two months.
The White Sox have no remaining arbitration-eligible players.
