Bolland in; Ladd out for Blues?
Lots of news from Tuesday's practice.
-- Dave Bolland will be back in the lineup Wednesday night against St. Louis for the first time since undergoing back surgery on Nov. 10.
Bolland centered a line for Marian Hossa and Patrick Sharp (back at wing) at practice Tuesday, but coach Joel Quenneville wouldn't commit to Bolland starting the game there.
"I don't know if he's going to start there or if he’ll work his way up,” Quenneville said. “We'll see how that shakes out at the morning skate."
-- Andrew Ladd left practice early with what Quenneville called a lower body injury and is questionable for Wednesday’s game.
If Ladd can’t play it would eliminate Quenneville’s decision on what forward to scratch with Bolland returning and what winger to drop to the fourth line – Ladd, Kris Versteeg or Dustin Byfuglien.
-- Adam Burish practiced for the first time since his knee surgery on Sept. 25 but thinks it will be another month before he can play.
-- Quenneville said Antti Niemi would start in goal against the Blues.
“Antti hasn’t played in a while,” said Quenneville, who last started Niemi Jan. 23 at Vancouver then pulled him after the first period down 3-0. “He had a tough period at Vancouver and this is a chance for him to get back in the net.”

The other thread was talking about the Hawks trying to bring in a more stay-at-home physical type d-man.
Anyone given any thought to bringing Vandermeer back to Chicago? He fits that mold...
And then I threw up in my mouth a little bit... There's gotta be someone better out there that can really help us on the blueline over the guys I've seen mentioned time and again. But when you have a guy like Campbell hogging over 10% of your total payroll who's signed for then next 48 years you have limited options so I fear, as I've posted before, that our splash will be more like a turd in the toilet...
No VanderPylon. Funny post, Orchard.
I am pretty excited about Bolland returning, I can't wait for Burish, feels like ages and ages.
There is a couple that I would like watch sit out but I am still debating myself with that so I'll post them once I stop fighting myself on this subject.
Sit "Cream-Buff"!!!!! He sucks!
Buff needs one, as he's been kind of invisible the last few games.
A couple games in the press box might be just the thing.
other than the 2 goals in 3 games. Yeah i know you will say he is not hitting but you dont care that he is always in position on the fore check and back check and makes smart plays!!
we can go on about this since the Byfuglien doesnt hit often enough is really a one dimensional argument!
**While watching the game tonight, follow DB on the ice with your eyes wherever he goes and not only when he misses hitting someone
(like most posters) and you will hopefully understand what his game is all about...there is a reason why he gets lots of quality shots on net**
It just strikes me as funny how some of you want him in front of the net (which he is, usually all night), scoring goals (which he is) and crushing people in the corners (which he could probably be doing more of, but is hard to do when you're parked in front of the net all night).
Not a bad idea. Wasn't it about this time last year when he went upstairs for a game to get his attention? That seemed to work out for the best come playoffs.
After a streak when that whole line did nothing. I'd give Madden a rest if he wasn't getting it during the Olympics. Otherwise, drop Fraser. Bolland won't play 15 minutes. At least he shouldn't.
This will give some fodder for a new topic to complain about!
why is he playing because he sucks or is too slow? etc etc
Nice to see Bolland back(pardon the pun)
Promote Kopecky to the 1st line and sit the squirt.
We need some muscle in the lineup!
I needed a good laugh... At least this time you weren't using "YE" and "THEE" in your comments.
Now go cream the Blues.
No, Cheese you are right on. The knock on flourdough is his inconsistency. Get someone in there that shows up every game. Try Toews in the net tonight. Put Carrotop on wing (he spend most of his time behind the offensive net anyway) with Huet at center. Keep flourdough in front of the net screening THEIR goalie on the power play and we'll score a lot of goals on shots from the point. Anyone shooting from the point won't have to look for a lane. Just aim for flourdough. The puck should go right past him.
I may have to sharpen my sarcasm to catch up to yous guys.
Knowing that the Blues/Hawks always play a physical game, it should be a good test of Bolland's back. I really wish Ladd was playing, he had a great trip and looks to be getting into a groove. I'd rather see others sit (remain nameless - they are the usual targets here on the boards).
