The Bulls are focused mostly on interviewing prospects this week at the Chicago predraft camp. They’ll also hold informal chats with some coaches, with a plan to narrow the list for formal interviews in the coming weeks. While Maurice Cheeks and Lawrence Frank remain the front runners, Boston’s playoff run has boosted the candidacy of Tom Thibodeau, the team’s highly-regarded defensive coordinator. The Bulls are expected to wait until Thibodeau is available for a formal interview, which may not be possible until the NBA Finals are over. He’s also been mentioned as a candidate for vacancies in New Orleans and New Jersey. Thibodeau has previously coached under Jeff Van Gundy in New York and Houston, and is said to be very anxious for the chance at a head job. In other coaching news, several reports have Philadelphia close to hiring Doug Collins. The 76ers got a huge boost in the draft lottery by winning the No. 2 pick, which is expected to be Ohio State guard Evan Turner.
