Hawks coach Joel Quenneville confirmed third-line winger Andrew Ladd will not dress for tonight's Stanley Cup opener. Tomas Kopecky, who hasn't played since Game 5 of the Western Conference semifinals against Vancouver, will take his spot.
Kopecky will join center Dave Bolland and winger Kris Versteeg on the checking line that fared so well against the Canucks' and San Jose Sharks' big guns...though Quenneville reserves the right to change his mind.
"We'll see," Q said. "I know we have options. We have lots of forwards that can go in different spots."

from Q's comments the days before?
I LOVE LADD and the way he has played to this point. He's one of our fiercest and most physical players and we'll miss him. Hopefully, Kopy can come in make an impact. I hope 16 comes back ASAP.
P.S. Note to 'Hoss'....stop shooting the puck RIGHT AT THE GOALIE AND PICK A FREAKING CORNER DUDE. You wonder why you only have 2 goals...it's because your weak arse shots that are right at the goalie.... FOOL NO ONE. C'Mon '81...LET'S GO. We all know you're ready to bust out.
He was playing his role to perfection.

Amen to that. However, what an opportunity for Kopecky. If I was a gambling man, I'd try to find out what the action is on Kopecky losing his helmet tonight, as it's certain to happen.
