It was a typically busy afternoon as the White Sox prepare to open a nine-game homestand against the Rangers tonight. GM Kenny Williams rarely talks anymore, but he has been making himself available before the first game when the Sox are back at U.S. Cellular Field and that was the case again Tuesday. The White Sox are 22-28 through the first two months of the season and they trail the first-place Twins by 8 1/2 games in the AL Central. Still, Kenny said he's a little encouraged by series wins over the Marlins and Indians followed by a split in a four-game series vs. the Rays. With that, the GM said he's going to remain patient. “I don't have a deadline,” KW said. “I just hope we put together something that resembles a streak of some sort. But I don't have a date; I don't have a deadline. I still believe in these guys and the ability that they have. We just need to play better and be more consistent.” Kenny did say he's be willing to make some additions if the Sox take advantage of a relatively easy June schedule and get back in the race. Here are some other notes: *Mark Teahen is on the 15-day disabled list and it looks like he's going to out for a month with an injured right middle finger. Ozzie said Omar Vizquel and Jayson Nix are going to platoon at third base. Brent Lillibridge, brought up from Class AAA Charlotte to take Teahen's roster spot _ might get some playing time at second base and do some pinch-running. *Ozzie said closer Bobby Jenks' right calf is feeling better, but don't expect to see him until maybe Wednesday. *Asked Paul Konerko about the latest trade rumors placing him with the Angels. The Sox' captain said he loves the organization, and L.A. manager Mike Scosica was one of his coaches when Konerko was with the Dodgers. But Konerko isn't losing any sleep over the rumors and that's a good thing because a trade is not going to happen. Here are tonight's lineups: Sox Pierre -- LF Pierzynski -- C Rios -- CF Konerko -- 1B Kotsay -- DH Quentin -- RF Ramirez -- SS Vizquel -- 3B Beckham -- 2B Buehrle -- LHP Rangers Andrus -- SS Young -- 3B Kinsler -- 2B Guerrero -- DH Hamilton -- LF Arias -- 1B Murphy -- RF Treanor -- C Gentry -- CF Harden -- LHP
