Adam Dunn for Carlos Quentin? Dunn for Gordon Beckham? No chance and never.
On Sunday, a source told me the Nationals might be willing to settle for rookie third baseman Dayan Viciedo and a couple of prospects for Dunn, the Washington Nationals’ power-hitting first baseman.
Sox GM Kenny Williams didn’t mention any names when speaking to reporters before Monday night’s White Sox-Mariners game in Seattle, but he did talk about the approaching July 31 nonwaiver trade deadline.
“To be completely honest and transparent, the price that is being asked for some of the players we’ve inquired about is, for us, more detrimental to our present and our future than we’d like,” KW said. “So we’ll see how that develops. Right now, I don’t see anything materializing.”
