Hudson handling trade rumors
White Sox GM Kenny Williams told Gordon Beckham he's not going to be moved before Saturday afternoon's trade deadline.
KW has apparently told Carlos Quentin the same thing.
As for rookie starting pitcher Daniel Hudson, his name is still making the rounds on the rumor mill.
Hudson has made 3 starts for the Sox in place of injured Jake Peavy. One was good and two were not.
Overall, the 23-year-old right-hander is 1-1 with a 6.32 ERA. The 11 walks in 15 2/3 innings have been the biggest problem.
Nevertheless, Hudson is still a promising young starter and he appears to be Williams' best piece to potentially trade.
"He should be proud," Ozzie said. "If your name is out there, it means somebody wants you. That's all you can say. When I talk to him about it, players read papers, they want to know what I'm going to say about them. I make it very clear since the first day I got here I'm pulling for him. I want him to part of this team."
Hudson feels the same way.
"It definitely feels good, you know, to be mentioned with all the big names that might be coming here," Hudson said. "It feels nice to know that other teams think highly of you and your talent, but I want to pitch in Chicago. Hopefully they know that, and hopefully I can do that. I want to stay in the pennant race. It's really fun in the clubhouse right now."
