DETROIT _ The White Sox were a little sleepy in the clubhouse this morning, with good reason.
They played a day-night doubleheader at Boston Saturday. Sunday, they rallied back at Fenway with 4 runs in the ninth inning to beat the Red Sox 7-5 in a game that lasted 4 hours and 5 minutes, improving to 6-0 on the road trip that started a week ago in Cleveland.
Ozzie has always been really good at resting his players, and center fielder Alex Rios and shortstop Alexei Ramirez are getting needed breaks today.
Paul Konerko is also out of the lineup, but it's a medical issue.
Konerko said his lower back started tightening up Saturday between Game 1 and 2, but he stayed in the lineup for all three games against Boston.
Konerko is going to sit today, but he's planning on playing against the Tigers Tuesday night.
There was some more news regarding the White Sox' starting rotation.
Freddy Garcia is going to start Tuesday night vs. Detroit after leaving his last start (at Cleveland Wednesday) with lower back stiffness.
And John Danks is going to come back on three days' rest and start Wednesday night, with Gavin Floyd going Thursday.
