Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville, who got a three-year contract extension through the 2013-14 season on Thursday, confirmed goalie Cristobal Huet won’t be at training camp.
That leaves Marty Turco, Corey Crawford and Hannu Toivonen as the Hawks’ top three goaltenders.
Huet will be loaned to a team in the Swiss pro league, a transaction the Hawks can’t make official until two weeks into training camp due to NHL rules.
The Hawks must pay Huet’s $5.6 million salary this season and next, but it won’t count against the team's salary cap.
Quenneville said he believes the Hawks are healthy heading into camp, although more will be known about Fernando Pisani’s off-season back issues after he takes his physical on Friday.
