Everyone outside the Blackhawks' inner circle seems to have left wing Bryan Bickell penciled in for the fourth line, but that’s not set in stone.
Bickell had a great scrimmage game on Monday with 3 goals playing on a line with Patrick Sharp and Patrick Kane, potential linemates, who knows? The 6-foot-4, 227-pound wing skated well and finished his chances.
Why not think that Bickell could play on one of the top three lines, or even be a top-six forward – a guy who can chip in 15 to 20 goals and do what Dustin Byfuglien and Andrew Ladd did previously?
Hawks coach Joel Quenneville earlier in camp mentioned Bickell and Viktor Stalberg as two wingers who could crack the top six at forward.
It was a day for the veterans at Monday’s scrimmages. Kane had 5 assists in two games and Sharp 2. Kyle Beach scored another goal as did Stalberg and Jack Skille.
Igor Makarov didn’t have a point.
