We’ll have much more later, but Ozzie just finished talking to White Sox beat writers at U.S. Cellular Field.
Here are a few quick highlights:
*On Oney Guilen tweeting some nasty thoughts on departed closer Bobby Jenks, Ozzie was not happy that his middle son called out Jenks for crying in the clubhouse a few years back.
“The only thing I was upset about was when he talked about the clubhouse stuff,” Ozzie said of Oney. “He grew up in the clubhouse. In the past, the clubhouse was a temple. I talked to him about it.”
*On Jenks saying he didn’t know how to handle a bullpen after signing with the Red Sox, Ozzie was not too happy with that, either.
“I was sad,” Ozzie said. “I gave Bobby every opportunity on and off the field.”
Ozzie also talked about the closer’s role, and he is leaning toward Chris Sale but also keeping a close eye on Jake Peavy’s health.
The White Sox’ manager also said Dayan Viciedo might get a shot in either left or right field.
