Teahen to DL; McPherson up

The White Sox placed infielder Mark Teahen (strained right oblique) on the 15-day disabled list this afternoon. To fill the void, the Sox purchased the contract of Dallas McPherson from Class AAA Charlotte. McPherson is not some rising young talent. Instead, he is very similar to former White Sox third baseman Joe Crede in one not-so-good respect – McPherson is a natural third baseman who has back issues. Now 30, McPherson was batting .305 with 9 doubles, 3 home runs and 18 RBI in 31 games with Charlotte. McPherson, a left-handed hitter, was batting .400 vs. right-handed pitchers with Charlotte. In stints with the Angels (2004-06) and Marlins (2008), McPherson hit .245 with 18 HR and 45 RBI.
