Rep. JoAnn Osmond not a fan of her proposed district

Last week, we told you that Democrats' proposed political map would make things tough for GOP incumbents who would have to square off against each other.

Well, here's a reminder that it'll be tough for some other GOP lawmakers, too. Rep. JoAnn Osmond of Antioch wouldn't have an incumbent primary opponent in her new district. But because the district she'd live in would look vastly different than her current one, she has to weigh her options.

Here's what she said on Facebook.

After the map release yesterday I have to look hard at my future ...stay in my home and run in McHenry County, move to my current district...or retire. These are all options for the summer debate. I am fortunate to have support from so many family and friends.

Now, Osmond represents a district that spans the northern part of Lake County. There's a district like that in the proposed map. But Osmond would live in a district that would look significantly different, taking up the northwestern part of Lake County and sprawling into McHenry County.

That's the proposed map. The light blue one at the north looks more like the district Osmond represents now. But she lives in that purple one just to the left.
