Castro breaks right hand

Bad news for White Sox backup catcher Ramon Castro. He broke his right hand in the eighth inning during Saturday’s game against the Twins. Mark Buehrle’s pitch to Alexi Casilla deflected off Castro’s glove and hit him on the hand. Castro figures to be out an extended period with the injury, and Class AAA Charlotte catcher Tyler Flowers is his likely replacement. In 64 games at Charlotte, Flowers is batting .255 with 14 home runs, 31 RBI and a .386 on-base percentage. He also has 84 strikeouts in 220 at-bats.
