Animal Farm exclusive interview with the man who posterized Obama

In recent weeks Barack Obama played basketball with the North Carolina Tar Heels. Apparently he could use a lesson in defense.

Yesterday, the Democratic presidential frontrunner was playing a pickup game against Illinois Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias that got a bit rough.

For those unaware, Giannoulias played college ball at Boston University and then briefly for a pro league in Greece.

Animal Farm caught up with Giannoulias and here’s his version of the way things went:

Giannoulias: “You’re the first person I’ve talked to about this.
The game was competitive. We were playing pretty hard.
I was going to the basket on the right side (Giannoulias is a righty, Obama is a lefty)
He could have let me go but he decided to jump.
I kinda lowered my shoulder. Not on purpose but to kinda create a little space.
And I got him right here (pointing to middle of the chest) and he just went down.
I was actually really nervous.”

Animal Farm: Did you make the shot?
Giannoulias: “I don’t remember.”

Animal Farm: Oh, c’mon.
Giannoulias: “I don’t remember. He went flying and was laying down. I wasn’t really looking at where the ball went.”

Animal Farm: I’d say it went in.
Giannoulais: (laughing) “It went in.”
“He was laying down for a couple minutes.”

Animal Farm: So now I need to check your campaign fund to make sure there’s not a big transfer from the Clinton campaign.

Giannoulias: “It was really scary for me, but that guy’s a warrior. I was ready to call it a day but a few minutes later he got up, I think he was worried about a rib or something, we ended up playing a little more.”
