Link will ask for a vote on Quinn's gambling plan
State Sen. Terry Link just told us that he'll draft Gov. Pat Quinn's gambling plan - the one without slot machines at Arlington Park - into legislation and call it for a vote in the Senate this week.
"I will carry it with sincerity," Link said.
And Link even said he'd vote for it.
But...
If (when?) the legislation fails, as expected, Link said he plans to ask for a vote on his own revised gambling package in a couple weeks. Link has said his proposal would include slots at horse tracks.
We caught Link to talk to him after a committee meeting at the Capitol. Lawmakers are scheduled to be in Springfield until Thursday.
