Former Walsh opponent responds

Yesterday, we told you how U.S. Rep. Joe Walsh would be unchallenged in the March 20 primary after both potential opponents, Richard Evans and Robert Canfield, were thrown off the ballot by the Illinois Board of Elections.
We couldn't reach Evans before that story ran, but the Villa Park Republican called us back this morning.
Evans said he is objecting to the decision by the board and accuses the board of not following their own rules.
"There's a number of procedural flaws in what happened at the State Board of Elections, including a timeline that was totally flawed from our perspective," he said.
Evans did not show at the board's meeting Tuesday and did not elaborate on how he expects to get back on the ballot. But he argues he has enough petition signatures to stay on the ballot.
"We do, and did, and still have the legitimate number, well over 600, which it takes to get on the ballot," he said.
The state's election bosses ruled otherwise unanimously, though, so we'll wait and see.

If he had the proper number of signatures, he wouldn't have been thrown off the ballot. Just another loser that can't take the decision.
