Some White Sox news and notes as spring training draws near:
*Individual game tickets for the upcoming season got on sale tomorrow (Friday) at 10 a.m.
You can get tickets by calling (866) SOX-GAME or visiting whitesox.com. Tickets are also available at Bacardi at the Park, located near Gate 5 at U.S. Cellular Field, and at Ticketmaster locations.
The Sox are using “dynamic” ticket pricing throughout the entire ballpark for all home games.
Fans can save up to 30 percent off regular prices on select seats if purchasing prior to Feb.11.
*The White Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers will play a spring training charity game in Tucson, Ariz. on March 23.
All proceeds from the game will benefit the Christina-Taylor Green Memorial Foundation.
The Christina-Taylor Green Memorial Foundation was established by the Green family in 2011 in memory of Christina-Taylor.
*Signing Dan Johnson to a minor-league contract is a low-risk move for the White Sox.
Johnson, a left-hand hitting first baseman, will be waiting in the wings at Class AAA Charlotte if first baseman Paul Konerko or designated hitter Adam Dunn go down with injury.
Johnson played for Tampa Bay Rays in 2011 and was sidelined with a wrist injury for most of the season.
Johnson hit only 2 home runs, but both were clutch shots.
The most memorable homer came against the Yankees in the final game of the season and helped Tampa Bay slip into the playoffs.
Johnson’s best season came in 2007, when he hit 16 home runs for Oakland.
