CREDO sets up shop in Elk Grove:
You've read here before about San Francisco - based Credo Super PAC's plans to open a suburban office to work to defeat Rep. Joe Walsh, a McHenry Tea Partyer, who they've termed one of the most "odious" members of Congress.
Well, folks, that time has come.
CREDO today will open a campaign office in Elk Grove Village.
We're told that the office right now contains three full time organizers, and is in the process of hiring a fourth, and plans to spend the upcoming months working on building up a grassroots campaign.
Credo functions a little differently than your average Super PAC.
Instead of relying on large donations from wealthy individuals, Credo aggregates small donations from individual donors - the organization currently has over 30,000 donors, 40,000 donations, with an average donation of $21.55, according to a spokeswoman.
Among the upcoming events in the future, will be a "women against Rep. Walsh" event aimed at highlighting Walsh's stances on contraceptive and health care mandates.
