Harper goes to Washington
Harper College President Ken Ender is in Washington, D.C., today after U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin invited him and other local officials to talk about the college's Advanced Manufacturing Training Program.
Ender talked to the Senate Democratic Steering and Outreach Committee about the college's efforts to prepare students to better handle modern manufacturing jobs.
"By teaming up with local job creators and other nearby educational institutions, this program helps determined workers develop the skills they need to find employment in their community, while also spurring local economic development," Durbin said in a statement.
